AI-assisted article

This article was prepared with AI assistance based on an analysis of the current Lumina Studio source code, existing Wiki content, and relevant workflows. It has been checked against the current version, but omissions or details that become outdated may remain as the software evolves. If you find an error or have a clearer explanation, example, or suggestion, please leave a comment on this page or propose an edit on GitHub.

Cache Management

Clear Cache removes temporary backend files, preview models, and conversion sessions. The result reports the number of files removed and the storage reclaimed.

Cache Management in System Settings

What is cleared

Lumina Studio clears:

  • temporary files owned by the file registry;
  • active backend conversion sessions and their temporary files;
  • runtime files inside the output temp and models directories;
  • cleanable 3MF, GLB, PNG, JPG, and TXT files at the top level of the output directory.

Files explicitly marked as protected statistics or LUT data are retained. Material libraries, imported source LUTs, and application settings are not normal targets of this button.

After clearing

Active preview sessions are removed, so existing preview or download links on the page may stop working. Upload or preview again, then generate a new download before continuing.

Do not use Clear Cache as the first response to every error: it discards current temporary work. Use it to reclaim space after long sessions, reset known-bad session state, or follow a specific troubleshooting step.

See Web Generation and Download Troubleshooting for the normal diagnosis order.
